About him...

Loren Jacobs
With over 30 years of experience in inclusive practice, creative facilitation and person-centred care, Loren brings deep expertise in connecting people across ages, abilities and backgrounds to his work with care homes.
Â
Loren's journey began at Chickenshed – the UK’s leading inclusive theatre organisation – where he first joined as a young member in 1992, before taking up employment with the company in 1998. Over these decades, he has held multiple roles including tutor for Chickenshed’s full-time education programme, Team Leader and Choreographer for the Tales team, designing and delivering inclusive activities for children aged 0–7 and 7–11. Alongside this, Loren previously worked with Cheviots, supporting disabled children and their families with tailored care and creative engagement.
Â
Loren's work has taken him across the UK and internationally – from performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to tours at Broadway in New York. He has also been invited to contribute to high-profile productions. Whilst being acknowledged for his skill in dancing, and approached from big companies such as The Lion King and award-winning company 1927’s work on War Horse. Most importantly, he has long specialised in bridging generations: he has led projects that bring nursery and reception-aged children together with care home residents, building meaningful connections through shared creative experience.
Â
Loren has collaborated closely with Sense and the Royal Free Hospital to develop specialist training courses. These programmes help people understand and respond with empathy to the experiences of those living with dementia and other conditions requiring sensitive, individual care. What drives his work is a fundamental belief that every person – regardless of age, ability or circumstance – deserves the chance to live a rich, full life beyond what others may expect of them.
